Bodies...The Exhibition Review Previously on display in cities across the world including New York City and London, "Bodies...The Exhibition" has finally made its debut in Las Vegas.

Twenty-one whole-body specimens are on display throughout the exhibit in various poses illustrating the body in motion. Poses include throwing darts, conducting music, pitching a baseball and hurling a discus. There are also more than 260 organs and partial-body specimens on display.

The specimens are preserved using a method known as polymer preservation, in which all tissue and water is replaced with silicone rubber. Polymer preservation gives visitors the chance to view the beauty and complexity of the human body as they never have before.

"Bodies...The Exhibition" is broken down into several displays based on anatomical systems including muscular, nervous, circulatory and digestive systems as well as special displays including fetal development, how disease affects the body and more.

In the portion of the exhibit focusing on bones and the human skeleton, visitors can view a fetal skull and the tiny bones which can be found in the ear. It is also in this portion of the exhibit where guests will learn that human bone is five times stronger than steel and that children's bones grow faster in the spring.

Corrosion casting is used to demonstrate the circulatory system in the human body. In corrosion casting, blood vessels are injected with a colored polymer which then hardens. Then the remaining tissue is removed to reveal an unobstructed view of the circulatory system (comprised of 60,000 miles of blood vessels in the human body). Samples on hand include arteries of the upper limb and of the stomach.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition ReviewAlthough the "ship of dreams" met its demise nearly a century ago, the spirit of the Titanic and its passengers live on through "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition."

Described as a floating palace, the incomparable Titanic was deemed "practically unsinkable" by the White Star Line and its builders. But on a calm April night in 1912, the massive luxury liner struck an iceberg and slowly sank into the North Atlantic.

Since then, many items from the wreckage have been recovered and added to "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition." The 25,000-square-foot exhibit features numerous items from the Titanic, including luggage, the ship's whistles, floor tiles from the first-class smoking room, a window frame from the Verandah Cafe and an unopened bottle of champagne with a 1900 vintage.

Springs Preserve ReviewPlayground of the Gods
From Jan. 10 - April 30, 2008, the Springs Preserve will showcase its newest art exhibit, "Playground of the Gods" inside the Origen  Experience. Here visitors can see more 30 of Nicholas A. Price's hand-printed photographs  of unscathed rock formations that resemble faces and scenery at Nevada's national park, Valley of Fire. The gift show will also display Price's masterpiece shots displayed on posters, photographs and quality prints.

Gazing out at the bone-dry, desert landscape of Las Vegas, it's hard to imagine that the area was once home to natural springs and abundant water.

The recently-opened Springs Preserve, a 180-acre cultural and historical attraction on the site of those springs, which dried up in 1962, aims to teach people about Vegas' past as well as get them to think about the future.
"It's a balance of the two," said Jesse Davis, marketing/public relations manager for the Springs Preserve. "In order for us to look toward the future, we have to appreciate the past."

The Springs Preserve, known as the birthplace of Las Vegas and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is administered by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, the agency that manages the city's water and promotes conservation.

M&M's World ReviewStepping into M&M’s World is like waking up to chocolate heaven -- four floors of chocolate heaven, that is.

If you're coming in from the Strip, you'll notice the charming seasonal display in the front window. Once you set foot inside this M&M's wonderland, you'll immediately feel the energy of its bright colors and upbeat music. On the main floor, choose from a variety of personalized key chains, charms, mugs and every souvenir imaginable. If you can’t find your name, no worries -- you can actually customize your own ID tag.

The second floor is truly phenomenal. From teal to light purple, the rainbow wall features 22 different M&M's colors -- what a treat! A few steps away, visitors can browse through a wide selection of candy dispensers and T-shirts. These tees poke fun with catchy logos like  “Candy of the Opera” and "American Chocolate."

The third floor is dedicated entirely to collector's items. One of the coolest things you’ll see here is the $275 M&M's guitar. If you’re a fan of Swarovski crystal, you find a sparkling assortment of M&M's bling. Or, if purses are more your thing, select from a fine collection of bags made from actual M&M's wrappers.

On the fourth and final floor, you'll find suitcases, lunch bags, home décor and even sweaters for your pet. On this floor, you'll also get an up-close look  at #18, a replica of Kyle Busch's M&M's sponsored race car.

If you want to bring home some creative gifts, choose from a selection of beachwear, games like M&M's Monopoly and dominoes, back scratchers, golf club covers, martini glasses, Frisbees and much more. For the cook in the family, you'll find a variety of barbecue aprons with witty phrases like, "Is Something Burning?" or "I Am Smokin' Hot."
As you're traveling between floors by escalator, you'll see a timeline of how the M&M’s characters evolved throughout the years. These walls showcase humorous movie posters as well.

And speaking of movies, you can catch a 3-D film while you're here. Movies play from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

M&M's World truly brings out the kid in all of us. It's a colorful, chocolate dream you'll never want to wake up from.

Adventure dome at Circus Circus Review Don’t let the pink exterior fool you, the Circus Circus Adventure dome is filled with action and thrills. Housed beneath a five-and-a-half-acre glass encasement, the Adventure dome promises fun for the whole family, young and old.

As soon as you set foot in the Adventure dome, you will find yourself face to face with the park's thrilling ride, The Sling Shot, which shoots you up toward the ceiling at 4 Gs and brings you back down at -1 G. The ride is fast and packs a powerful punch.

If you're ready to take a "spin" on the fun side, adventure seekers and music lovers alike can enjoy the excitement of Disk 'O, which moves at an astounding 14 rotations per minute on its 100-foot roller coaster track. You'll find yourself spinning and twirling in different directions the entire time.

Another ride you can't help but notice is the Canyon Blaster. Far from traditional, the high-speed roller coaster gives riders a 90-foot-high view of the park and boasts the only double-loop, double-corkscrew track in the United States.

Two other rides that will surprise you with a number of twists and turns are the Inverter and Chaos. The Inverter takes you 50 feet off the ground as it flips a full 360 degrees while Chaos spins you upside-down, backward and counterclockwise.

If you find yourself breaking a sweat from some of the more extreme rides, take a moment to cool off on the Rim Runner. Riders are left wondering what's behind every turn as they travel downstream, finally plunging down a 60-foot drop and getting thoroughly drenched.

But not all of the attractions are as adventurous: "Fun House Express" is an IMAX Ride Film that takes you on a demented clown's journey through the bowels of a fun house. For all you Marvin the Martian fans, experience your favorite cartoon character in a whole new dimension at the 4-D Special FX Theatre.

Vegas Indoor Skydiving ReviewDespite the deafening roar tearing through the walls at Vegas Indoor Skydiving in Las Vegas, a young couple strolled in recently and asked the cashier where to register for the 2 p.m. skydiving class.

Within 20 minutes the two were briefed on the most effective crash position and dressed in oversized flight suits, joining three other students in a 12-foot-wide, 22-foot-high padded tunnel.

Certainly not everybody wants to jump thousands of feet from an airplane. For the curious, yet not entirely daring, there's indoor skydiving.

No inclement weather. No worries about a parachute not opening. No birds-eye views of faraway ground.

"The great thing about this is that a 5-year-old can do it, and Grandma can do it," Diana Adams, manager of the facility, said. "You just need to come ready to have fun."
